Bathroom Services
Toilets, Basins, Baths, Showers & Taps
Bathroom fittings and fixtures take a lot of daily use, and over time even the most reliable components will need attention. Whether it's a dripping tap, a toilet that won't flush properly, a shower that's lost pressure, or a bath that needs replacing, I carry out a wide range of bathroom plumbing repairs, replacements, and installations, working carefully and tidily, with no mess left behind.
Taps
Taps are among the most frequently used fittings in any home, and one of the most common sources of plumbing problems. A dripping tap is not just an irritation, left unattended, it wastes a significant amount of water over time and can indicate a worn washer, a damaged cartridge, or a faulty ceramic disc. I repair and replace all types of bathroom taps, including mixer taps, monobloc taps, pillar taps, and wall-mounted taps. Where a tap is beyond economic repair, or simply outdated. I can replace it with a new one to your specification, ensuring it's fitted correctly and free of leaks.
Toilets
A toilet that runs continuously, flushes weakly, leaks at the base, or won't flush at all is both frustrating and potentially wasteful. Most toilet problems originate in the cistern, a faulty fill valve, a worn flapper, a broken flush mechanism, or a cracked overflow pipe are all common culprits. In older properties, internal cistern components tend to wear faster and are more likely to need attention. I repair and replace toilet cistern components, carry out full toilet replacements where needed, and install new toilets, ensuring correct connection to the waste pipe and a leak-free finish.
Showers
A shower that's lost pressure, runs cold, drips when turned off, or produces an uneven flow is a sign that something needs attention. Common causes include a worn cartridge or thermostatic valve, a blocked or scaled showerhead, a faulty diverter, or deteriorating hose connections. I repair a wide range of shower types, including electric showers, mixer showers, and thermostatic shower systems, diagnosing the fault accurately before carrying out the repair.
Electric Showers
Electric showers are self-contained units that heat water directly from the mains supply, independently of your central heating system, which makes them a practical option for homes where hot water availability can be inconsistent. Over time, electric showers can develop faults including temperature fluctuations, reduced flow, failure to heat water, or a unit that trips the electrics. Where an electric shower is beyond repair, I carry out full replacements, fitting a new unit in place of the existing one and ensuring correct connections to both the water supply and the electrical supply.
