What First Fix Involves
First fix covers everything installed before plastering, boarding and flooring go down: water supplies, waste pipes and heating pipework, all run to the exact positions of the finished room. It's the stage where layout decisions are fixed in place, so I agree every fitting position with you or your builder before any pipe goes in. I carry out first fix on projects of every size, from a single new bathroom or kitchen to extensions and loft conversions.
Whole-House Plumbing
For new builds, full refurbishments and whole-house re-plumbs, I can plan and install the complete plumbing and heating pipework for the entire property. Designing the whole system at once means correctly sized pipes, sensible routes and a layout that works for the house as a whole, rather than a patchwork of alterations added over the years.
Water, Waste & Heating Pipework
Hot and cold water supplies are run from the incoming mains to every outlet, waste pipes are installed to the correct falls and connected to the drainage, and heating flow and return pipework is taken to every radiator or underfloor manifold. Every system is pressure tested before the walls are closed, so any issue is found early.
Working With Your Builder & Second Fix
I'm happy to work alongside your builder, electrician or plasterer, agreeing timings in advance so nothing holds the project up. Once plastering and tiling are finished, I can return for second fix, fitting sanitaryware, taps and radiators and testing the full system, so the same person who installed the pipework finishes the job.
